Detailed step by step guide

Step 1

First thing first, you will need to create an online account with Ladbrokes before you can place a bet of any kind let alone a handicap or Asian handicap bet. Go to the Ladbrokes homepage and click the red “Join Now” button in the top right hand corner of the screen. Enter the required personal details into the registration form on the pop-up box,  making sure that you accept the terms and conditions. Click “Create Account” and follow the on screen instructions to deposit some money.

Step 2

When you have created your Ladbrokes account, you can start looking for a sporting fixture to place a handicap or Asian handicap bet on (bear in mind that Asian handicaps are only available for football fixtures).

Click “A-Z Sports” on the horizontal menu bar running across the top of the page to open a menu with different sports. Click on the sport of your choice to see the upcoming fixtures – if you don’t see anything interesting here, then select the “Competitions” tab to narrow your search. When you find the fixture you are looking for, click on the team names to select it.

Step 3

You will be taken to a page with a whole range of different betting options relating to your selected fixture. Toward the top of this page will be a number of different betting types such as “Popular Markets”, “Goal Markets”, etc. Click on “Handicap Markets” to see all the handicap and Asian handicap betting options.

Step 4

To the top of the page you will see the standard handicap betting options. Here there will be three options with their respective odds beneath: home team, away team and tie. Each option will include a positive or negative number next to it, indicating the number of goals which will be added to or taken away from that team’s final goal tally.

The Asian line handicap options will only give you two options. This is because the Asian handicap betting system eliminates the possibility of a draw from the equation. The same numerical rules apply, however: the number next to each set of odds indicates the amount of goals that will be taken away from or added to the respective team’s goal tally. Where there are two numbers, your stake will be split in two and placed on both handicap values at the same odds.

When you are familiar with the handicap and Asian handicap layout, you simply have to select your odds by clicking on the box in which they appear.

Your selected odds will appear in your Betslip on the upper right hand side of the page. This is where you can manage all of your chosen bets at any time whilst browsing the Ladbrokes website. Enter your stake into the box and you will see the potential returns below.

Step 6

If you are happy with your selections and the potential winnings then you simply have to click the big green “Place Bets” button.
