Step 1
Before you get started with placing your first handicap or Asian handicap on Betfred, you will need to create your own online account with the bookmaker.
To do this, go to their homepage and click the “Sign Up Now” option in the top right hand corner of the screen. Fill in the registration form, confirm that you are over 18 and accept the terms and conditions. Finally, click “Register” and deposit some money into your new account.
Step 2
With your new account up and running, you can go ahead and browse the different sports available to bet on with Betfred. Go to the sportsbook section of the website by clicking “Sport” on the horizontal menu running across the top of the page. On the sports pages you will see a menu running down the left hand side of the page with featured events and competitions under “Betting Highlights”.
For a more extensive list of available sports look below to the “Sports Betting” menu. Select the sport of your choice and choose a league or competition from the sub-menus. For example, to find a Premier League match you will have to click on the following in order: “Football”, “UK Leagues & Cups”, “English Premier League” and “Matches”. Once you have selected your match click the ‘More Bets’ button to bring up all the bets for that fixture. Use the drop down menu at the top of the fixture page which says “- Show All -” to locate the handicap options. These options will look something like this “Handicap -1.0” or “Handicap +1.0”. The numerical value here indicates the number of goals which the away team will have added to or taken away from the scoreline.
If you click on “Handicap -1.0” for example, you will be presented with three odds in which the home team will be given a +1 advantage, a handicap tie with a +1 given to the home team, and a -1 goal deficit given to the away team.
Asian handicaps will only give you two odds because this type of bet eliminates the possibility of a draw outcome. If there are two handicap values for one set of odds, then your stake will be split in half and placed on both.
Step 4
Now you have found the handicap options for your fixture, you can go ahead and select the handicap odds that you want to place a bet on. To do this, simply tick the small box next to the odds which take your fancy.
Step 5
Ticking a set of odds will open your Bet Slip on the upper right-hand side of the page. This is where you can see and manage all of your selected bets. If you are satisfied with your selections, then enter a stake into the box to see the potential winnings below.
Step 6
Now you only have one thing left to do – click the button saying “Place bets”.
